What is Sympossio?

Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring -informally known as Sympossio- is now more than 15 years old and has evolved from a small, modest initiative into a major international gastronomic and cultural event. Created by Aldemar Resorts, the project is strongly supported by a wide network of Greek food and beverage companies as well as public entities, maintaining close and long-term relationships with its sponsors, which strengthens both its reach and impact.

Each year, Sympossio adopts a different theme or concept, focusing on specific products, recipes, regions of Greece, and aspects of Greek culinary tradition. This approach allows it to continually introduce fresh experiences, while promoting the diversity and richness of Greek gastronomy and culture to international audiences.

The core of Sympossio is its series of live cooking and interactive events, where chefs and guests cook together, exchange knowledge, taste dishes, enjoy company, and network. These immersive experiences are designed to engage all the senses and create meaningful connections between Greece’s culinary professionals, partners, and the public. Inspired by the ancient Greek symposium (a social gathering centered around food, conversation, and shared experience), Sympossio celebrates not only Greek cuisine but also hospitality, culture, and collaboration, making it a unique ambassador of Greek gastronomy abroad.
